January is a great time to take stock of everything in your life from your weight to your mental health. It’s also a great time to look at your stash of sex toys and decide what to keep, what to toss, and to properly store them.

If you’re like most people, you probably have a tangled drawer or box of sex toys. The first step is to organize. Empty the box on the bed and start by tossing any toys that simply don’t do it for you – no sense cluttering up your life with toys that don’t get you off!

Next, match up chargers with toys. Maybe even be a little anal (pun intended!) and label the cords so they go with the appropriate chargers. Now check for damage. Make sure your toys are in good shape and toss anything that has holes, tears or obvious signs of wear and tear. These toys go inside the most sensitive parts of your body – be careful what you stick in there! Toss anything that isn’t up to par.

The next step is thoroughly clean your toys. Hopefully you’ve been cleaning your toys with toy cleaner after each use but if you’ve slacked on that, and even if you haven’t, this is a great time to give your toys a thorough cleaning. Most toys can be cleaned with a warm, damp soapy washcloth. Use a mild, non-scented hand or dish soap. Make sure you dry it thoroughly before storing it.

When storing your toys, don’t just through them all in your bedside drawer (again!). Remember, toys don’t always play nice with each other and storing them together can lead to further damage. Instead put them into individual satin bags and store them separately or invest in a plastic bin specifically made for sex toys like the JoyBoxx.
