Lady Genevieve Reviews Hybrid Lubes

Lady Genevieve

I’m not on the floor frequently, but when I am, I always tend to get the questions regarding lubricants: “What’s the best?” or “What should I use for blah blah blah?”. There’s not always an easy answer, in fact, I end up asking more questions to try to figure out what a person is trying to get out of it. Skin-to-skin? Just with toys? What about both? That last question is where hybrid lubes comes in to play and my current favorite type to recommend. Why? Because when you’re busy doing the do – with a partner(s) or even solo in the dark – more people have stated that they just grab what’s within reach without looking. This could cause potential problems if you have a silicone lube with a silicone toy (although that seems to be changing recently, but until it’s across the board let’s just say water-based is always safe). Or if you are with a partner and you need that silicone lube but only have some sticky flavored lube. Yea, it can be a pain, but that’s why we recommend hybrid for those situations! For this review, I actually got the chance to experience 3 different types of lube from 2 of our top selling brands. We always recommend these two brands regardless because they have proven in the past that they are safe with all toys, but we wanted to know what the actual difference was between all of them. Let’s get it started!

System JO Classic Hybrid Lubricant
System JO Classic Hybrid

System JO Classic Hybrid

System JO is one of the few lubricant brands we sell that pays to get FDA regulated (basically meaning tested for quality and assurance that it is a safe, medical grade product). JO also has great quality lubricants and a wide range of them as well. At one point, they even created their own cocktail guide by using their flavored lubes as mixes for drinks! We tend to recommend System Jo Classic Hybrid to customers who believe they will be using lube in a situation with their partner and/or toy at any moment because it has been repeatedly spot tested on silicone toys with no sign of ruining the toy itself. The System Jo Classic Hybrid comes out clear and feels ticker than water-based lube, potentially just as thick as some cheaper quality silicone lubes we sell. It took a WHILE fore it to start feeling like it was disappearing. I mean, it took far longer than my build up-to-orgasm timing to start disappearing, but once it did finally get to that point, it did start to get faintly sticky. It is nothing, and I mean NOTHING, similar to flavored lube stickiness but by the time I expect to get to this point, I would probably be cleaning myself up afterwards.

JO Silicone Free Hybrid
System JO Silicone Free Hybrid

System JO Silicone Free Hybrid

This one sounds a bit of a mouthful and might be a bit confusing because we usually refer to this hybrid lubricant as System Jo Coconut Hybrid, but yes, it is technically System JO Silicone Free Hybrid. This hybrid is made differently from their Classic Hybrid ingredient wise and that’s not just the silicone-free coconut oil difference (you can find the ingredients of lubricants in all of the product descriptions). Surprisingly, System JO claims that this lubricant is safe to use with latex and polyisoprene condoms. I do beg of you to PLEASE be careful when using this with condoms because technically no oils should be used on any condoms as they cause the condoms to break. The Silicone Free Hybrid does have a more lotion-y look as well as feel initially, but this one definitely did not last remotely as long as the Classic Hybrid from JO. In fact, it lasted maybe a few moments before I felt like it entirely disappeared. It doesn;t leave a sticky feeling once it’s gone, but still reapplying seems to be the norm with this lubricant. It does have a slight coconut scent to it, but t is not overbearing at all and I had to freshly squeeze it and get my nose as close as possible to smell it. Not my fave for solo or partnered play BUT did you know you can use this for flyaway hairs?! I’ve probably used the Silicone Free Hybrid for my hair far more than I ever have for any type of sensual play.

wicked simply timeless hybrid lubricant
Wicked Simply Timeless Hybrid

Wicked Simply Timeless Hybrid

Now, this product is newer on our shelves and we’ve been selling out of them like crazy since because it truly is a different product from anything else we’ve carried before. The Wicked Simply Timeless collection was made with menopause and beyond in mind. This collection is made differently from the rest of the Wicked line because it truly is catering to bodies that are experiencing a normal bodily change that may require more assistance in areas such as sexual arousal and even daily comfort. Wicked itself is entirely vegan, so it does not go through the same testing as System JO does, but that means it is an option for individuals who prefer vegan products. There are different ingredients in this hybrid compared to the others because they have additional ones specifically to help daily comfort of those experiencing menopause. We have had several customers share their experiences with us after using the Wicked Simply Timeless and you would have thought they met some higher power with how much it changed their lives. Wicked Simple Timeless Hybrid feels thinner than lotion despite being white in color (I wasn’t expecting that!). It didn’t last as long as the System JO Classic Hybrid BUT it did last far longer than the Silicone Free Hybrid and also did not leave a sticky feeling. My body (including my hands) actually felt really smooth after and that’s because it’s enriched with Vitamin E and other hydrating ingredients so it can be used as a daily moisturizer.

Ratings

If I had to rate these products on what I’d recommend first to last it would go: System JO Classic Hybrid, Wicked Simply Timeless Hybrid and finally System JO Silicone Free. I honestly wasn’t expecting that exact order (despite being only 3 different lubes), but I have my reasoning. When I think of lube in its most commonly used sense (in the moment, using for partnered or solo play), yes, the System JO Classic Hybrid would be the one I would want to grab especially not knowing what we’re getting into or for how long. If I did want to use it in a sense of daily moisturizer for all day comfort, then I would definitely have the Wicked Simply Timeless Hybrid as my first choice. I will say had I never sat down and actively looked or compared all three, I would have assumed that the Wicked and Classic Hybrid would have given similar results (but I was obviously wrong). Regardless, you use the lubricant that works best for you in the end. In the mean time…

Stay Sexual!
