fantasy gifts nj thanksgiving thoughts

As we gather around the table with our families and friends this Thanksgiving, it’s a good time to pause and reflect upon what we are thankful for. As the owner of an adult store, I have many things for which to give thanks. So here they are, in no particular order:

Our associates during our Intimate Earth Training with Patrick
  1. I’m thankful for my employees who show up, work hard, and serve our customers. I am thankful they have positive attitudes, a commitment to my company, and a willingness to learn new information about an industry that is always evolving.
  2. I’m thankful for my management team who work with me, who always make me laugh, who make me feel good about myself, who never make me feel “too old” and who are always willing to share their food with me!
  3. I’m thankful for our customers who have many choices about where to shop but still pick us!
  4. I’m thankful for our distributors who always make sure we’re happy, communicate with us, tell us what to buy (and not to buy) and throw fabulous trade show events!
  5. I’m thankful for the small companies who work directly with us. As a small business we love supporting other small businesses. We love that we get to know you, your story, your employees, and your products.
  6. I’m thankful for my industry peeps! My partners in crime who treat this business as a business, not as something funny, or dirty or weird. I love that we can all geek out together over the latest trends, shake our heads at certain ones and enthusiastically endorse others. I love that we can talk professionally about everything from the weight of a dildo to the strength of a handcuff.
  7. I’m thankful for the social media platforms which have allowed certain toys to go viral. While I’m not always sure why some toys go viral and others don’t, we’re thankful that our customers have ways to learn about trending sex toys.
  8. I’m thankful that I live in a state that doesn’t ban the sale of sex toys, although some towns do make it pretty difficult!
  9. I’m thankful that legalized gay marriage is still the law of the land and I’m hopeful that people will vote into office representatives who want to maintain that right.
  10. While I’m not thankful that the Dobbs decision overturned Roe v. Wade, I am thankful that more voters turned out and rejected state constitutional amendments and candidates that do not support a woman’s right to choose. I am hopeful that this fundamental right will eventually be enshrined into as a formal amendment to our constitution.
