September 29 - World Contraception Day

World Contraception Day takes place on September 26th every year. The annual worldwide campaign centers around a vision where every pregnancy is wanted. Launched in 2007, WCD’s mission is to improve awareness of contraception and to enable young people to make informed choices on their sexual and reproductive health.

Different Types of Contraception

PostDay One-Step Emergency Contraception

There are several different types of contraception and, when used perfectly, can be very reliable in preventing unwanted pregnancy. You can have forms on contraception that you never have to remember to take such as an IUD, the implant, or permanently your tubes tied or a vasectomy. There are also options that you do need to remember to use every time you engage in sexual activity if having heterosexual sex (however contraceptions can be used by anyone for plenty of reasons) such as the pill, a diaphragm, and condoms. Condoms are the ONLY form on contraception that can also prevent STI’s so they should always be used regardless of any other forms of brith control you may be using. You can find out more about the different forms of birth control by visiting Planned Parenthood’s website or take a look at them side-by-side with Sexwise’s chart!

Contraception We Offer

We do offer condoms and dental dams, being an adult store and all, but we also have emergency contraception for when the form of birth control you used may have failed. You can only obtain them in our store at this time (thanks other states that aren’t NJ), but we are happy to help whoever we can whenever we can! For more resources, check out plannedparenthood.org for all your STI, birth control and abortion questions.
