LORDTTTTTT I HAVE NEVER LOVED SKINCARE BEFORE AND NOW I DO. Okay, that was a lie BUT I really only worked on my face (sorta kinda) and not really for the rest of my body – including the under carriage parts. To be fair, I am a huge believer in the self-cleaning oven concept for your vagina and you shouldn’t but using any of those weird ass Vagisil or Lume deodorants cause 1) can mess us your pH balance and 2) keeps the societal idea that people with vulva are supposed to smell pretty or have no scent. But ever since I had my second baby and my hormones are still kinda outta wack, I find myself super dry using my menstrual disc to where it’s very uncomfortable at the bottom part of my vulva (side note: vulva is outside, vagina is inside – two different parts). Since we’ve been looking more and more into sexual health and wellness products, especially for menopause, I’ve been on the prowl for new and wallet-friendly products that I can even use. And one day, I saw it – Medicine Mama.

Medicine Mama was created by a physician, Dr. Clare, who recognized that products meant for people with vulvas were unfortunately falling victim to the clean beauty trend complete with false marketing and potentially unsafe products. These products are specifically made for the vulva (aka the OUTSIDE parts) because Dr. Clare has also made a point that your vulva and vagina are made from different tissues and should be treated as such! Because I was excited for this product, I was fortunate enough to get some sneak peek samples before they hit our distributors and I honestly feel like I am the luckiest girl in the world for it! Here’s why:

Vulva Balm

The Vulva Balm basically saved my life and sanity. As I mentioned, i was unfortunately getting extremely dry recently and it was so uncomfortable I could barely sit or sleep right whenever I had my period. When we got this in, I used a small amount because I react to everything and I wasn’t sure how raw I potentially was… and whether I was or not i couldn’t tell! It was soooooo SOOTHING. I made sure to keep putting it on only at night so it could sit but I really could tell a difference after the very first night. They say it can take 3 months to start up a new habit but I think this one was created n a matter of minutes! The cool thing about the Vulva Balm is that it comes in a cleverly named travel friendly sized called Lips Stick! Same formula, same perfection.

Vulva Wash

I know what you’re thinking, yes I just said I don’t believe in this stuff. But as the Fantasy Gifts guinea pig, I unfortunately have to try it all. Of course, I made sure I wasn’t doing anything to forceable but accidentally get it into my vagina (again, not a big deal if it does). Immediately I noticed a difference from the way normal soap feels compared to the Vulva Wash. The Vulva Wash is clear and light feeling and after using it, it didn’t feel like I was still fighting with my hair and fat to get it off my skin. I actually was pleasantly surprised at how I DIDN’t get irritated either! Oh and there’s no scent to it so if you’re sensitive to anything like that (again, like me), changes are you’ll be fine!

Now, there is a Grooming Polish that is intended for exfoliating skin and helping prevent in-grown hairs. I didn’t happen to use this one because I barely shave anything but at this rate, I’d be on it. The whole Medicine Mama line is absolutely phenomenal and I don’t get to say that often. Realistcally this product line is not just for people who go through menopause – it’s for people during and after pregnancy, anyone currently menstruating, and if you experience dryness from medication. Honestly, I would absolutely recommend it to just about anyone at this point!
