I’ve never thought of myself as a vanilla person, but I also don’t think of myself as a hardcore kinkster either. I like e-stim play and I could honestly think back to the exact point where I found myself enjoying the sensation of electric stimulation (in a non-sexual way) that probably molded my enjoyment of the sensation. However, there are still some things that I come across that I mistake for the same type of pleasure I prefer. You see, I have the Neon Wand which feels more like a massage on my body since it is a consistent current and the level the electricity comes through can be adjusted. I can go to the strongest power, but I love the build-up instead of the straight on shock. I am not sure why I felt the Merci Stinger would be similar to the Neon Wand (because it is definitely not), but also, I wasn’t sure what I was expecting with using a product that my brain associates with cows…

Merci Stinger Compared to Neon Wand

As I mentioned, the Neon Wand is a consistent current that you can easily turn up or down with a dial. And if you’re used to the sensation (and you accidentally turn it up), it won’t be an actual (literal?) shock to you! However, the Merci Stinger is a button you have to push to turn on and there is no easing into it – it’s a wham, bam, thank you ma’am kinda shock! I guess I can’t say I hate the sensation, but also, I wasn’t ready to commit to holding it down long-term like the Neon Wand. I do think the purpose of the stinger is it should be quick-contact-then-remove-and-repeat, but I don’t love that.

Some Warnings

Compared to the Neon Wand, I would say the Merci Stinger isn’t a beginner type toy (either). For being an inexpensive, battery powered product that, even myself being interested in e-stim, it goes beyond my comfort level. Otherwise, it works for anyone of any gender or sexuality – just depends on your interest if e-stim, comfort of being shocked, and experience overall since some e-stim products can cause harm (for example, heart conditions, if you’re pregnant, etc.). Also, a quick warning to everyone… I took the batteries out to prevent any shocks while in storage and it STILL had 1 shock left in it without even pushing the button. Remove the batteries and make sure it has no power left before storing away!
