Did you know that air pulse and suction are two different types of sensations you can experience? That’s right! Products like these have been around for almost two decades, and yet they did not get main stream popularity until Covid-19 hit around 2020 and the viral rose was the talk of the viral town! More recently, you’ve probably seen Katy Perry’s new music video including the Womanizer (which apparently was on her own accord and not through a partnership). If you’ve been curious about or looking to get your hands on an air pulse or a suction toy,and you can find them all at our sex shop near Philadelphia! But before you do, you should learn there are important differences:

Air Pulse

Think of air pulse as a a drum: when you hit the drum, air comes rushing back from the part that was hit. It’s more of a ‘pulse’ that throws air out and it may feel like there is a slight pull back in, but that’s from the drum getting back to it’s place. In fact, there is no way for air to get in (or out) throughout the mechanics of an air pulse toy, it’s just the drum being ‘struck’. This sensation in particular might feel lighter to people who enjoy stronger sensations, but would work wonders for those who are more sensitive. With air pulse, you do not need to hold it directly to your body to even feel the pulses coming from the product. Products you might be familiar with that are air pulse include Womanizer, Satisfyer, and even the infamous rose. Be forewarned – some of the boxes manufacturers make state it is suction when it is ACTUALLY air pulse (the rose, for example, is often described incorrectly as suction when it IS, in fact, air pulse).

Suction

Suction is exactly what it describes – a vacuum. Something that we do on people’s necks to leave hickeys or on penises (if you’re into that sort of thing). This is a much stronger sensation and should be held directly to your body. With suction products, there is an air flow valve and on occasion, there is a release button when it gets too intense and won’t release on it’s own. You should be using lube all the time, but it’s basically a necessity with suction to help seal the opening. Also, if you are someone who does not care to shave, sometimes that hair will also prevent the toy from sealing and make your experience not what you expected. Anything that is from the Evolved line with any type of suction is TRULY suction and there are a few items from the Nu Sensuelle line that are also suction. You might also see more penis products with true suction.

Other Uses

Think of penis pumps and other body pumps – that’s suction! So why can’t you use these products on things such as nipples or even testicles for new sensations? Believe it or not – YOU CAN! Also, if you are a trans or non-binary individual who is taking testosterone and you have some growth, these products can also work as masturbators! So really, air pulse and suction toys are fairly universal in their uses, don’t you think?
